Global Vision Week

So, I didn’t go to my beginnings class on Global Vision because I had an academic advising appointment. My alpha meeting for this topic was cancelled. So, I ended up not going to anything this whole week that was dedicated to Global Vision. I do think that this was an important week and it is good to have awareness about all that is going on in this world. Also, all of the chapels that went on this week were internationally based. I think it is really cool to worship God in a different language, remembering that people who speak a different language serve the same God that I do.

It was also really neat walking down cougar walk, seeing all the booths that are out there talking about missions and such. I stopped at the “Stop the Traffik” booth because it had caught my attention. This booth had tons of stuff about all forms of human trafficking. I already know a lot about sex trafficking, but I don’t know that much about fair trade chocolate. It was interesting to learn about people who are slaves for harvesting cocoa beans. They encouraged me to buy fair trade chocolate that can guarantee to have no involvement in trafficked people. You can buy this kind of chocolate at stores like Trader Joe’s, Target, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, and Ten Thousand Villages. If you want more details about this then drop a comment!
